- The general theme of the book is that people's mindsets determine where they go an how successful they will be. If someone has a growth mindset, they will continue to grow, but if someone has a negative mindset, they will become stagnant.
- This book enhanced what I have learned in Ent 3003 because it highlighted the importance of strong character, and how important it is to train your character to become successful.
- If I had to design an exercise for this class it would require everyone to try the "growth mindset". It would be a blog post in which the student has to explain 5 times in the last month they have used the growth mindset to better themselves.
- My biggest 'aha' moment in this book was the teacher and coach section. When the author explained how the use of language when a person is learning can effect how they perceive themselves.

Hello Ethan, I actually did my second reading reflection on "The New Psychology of Success" and enjoyed ever second of the book. My take away from that reading was that it is vital that you have a growth mindset in order to succeed in life. The idea to have students explain 5 times in the last month when they used growth mindset would be very beneficial.
ReplyDeleteI like how your reading reflection is based off of peoples mindsets and how they can improve. I watch a lot of podcasts to understand human nature and how we can grow intellectual and physically. Implementing a growth mindset is important for success, because you are always thinking forward instead of living in the past and past achievements. Great reflection.
ReplyDeleteDear Ethan, excellent reflection on The New Psychology of Success on this post. I have not read this book, however, by your reflection, I am inclined to do so. I agree with the principal idea of the theme's novel. I believe that the mindset someone carries with them, hugely determines their performance in life. I agree with the author's point about how to speak with someone, I believe that can make the difference between someone's life.
ReplyDeleteHey Ethan,
ReplyDeleteI have not read this book, but totally agree with the author on how crucial and influential our mindsets are to our overall success in which we are seeking. I always try to live my life with a glass half full mentality. Work to my very best and have the chips lie where they may. This book seems very interesting, I may check it out now.
Hey Ethan while I have not experienced reading this book for myself I certainly agree with your interpretations and with the philosophies that you reiterated from the book. Often times in my life I have seen the effects and struggles of what a bad attitude can do to affect your work and lifestyle. I have also seen the effects of what a good attitude can do and the consequences of both certainly help influence us for the future.
