Halfway Reflection

Halfway Reflection
  1. The behaviors I used to keep up with the requirements of this course were mainly my time management skills. Like some of my other peers this summer I took a week long vacation for summer. In order to stay on track because I had no internet where I was going, I had to get all my work done before the trip, and then as soon as I got back I had to get a lot of work done as well.
  2. One point I felt like giving up is when I figured out I couldn't do the peer reviews on my phone on vacation. I knew I wouldn't be able to get the points and the highest grade I could get was capped lower than it was before. After a Little bit of thinking it came to me that it was only a few points in the big scheme of things and I could still get an A.
  3. Three tips
    • When it comes down to it fostering skills that support tenacity it comes down to finding a reason to wanting to get the work done. If you don't care it won't get done.
    • Developing the tenacious mindset means finding that reason and drive to get the work done.
    • This tenacity should be suited to your personality as well. However you go about dealing with problems is exactly how you should go about finding and implementing your newfound drive.

  1. Hello Ethan, I share the same idea that my time management skills have been used heavily in this class as I use it every day. Good job on getting ahead with the course as that will help you when you go on vacation. It sucked that you were not able to do the peer reviews on your phone as you lost those points. I agree with your three tips as it will help future students in this course.

  2. Hey Ethan,
Like yourself, time management is obviously a big part of not only this class but life in general. As you said, it is even tougher in the summer months to balance your time because you may not be on campus and may be traveling around or working. I also share the idea that a tenacious attitude mainly comes from you desire to actually get the work done.

  3. Hello Ethan, very wise and thoughtful words. I respect your ability to take advantage of your summer and still have fun while getting your work done ahead of time. That was very wise and mature of you. I think it also a great thing you did not quit after your loss which is marginally very small to the grand scheme of things. Hopefully you can use this small lesson as a tool for your future and to not be overwhelmed in future circumstances.

  4. "Developing the tenacious mindset means finding that reason and drive to get the work done." Great quote, Ethan. I totally understand the stress that fell over you when you couldn't complete the peer reviews. I, myself, fell into a similar situation. I wish you the best of luck for the remainder of the semester!
